- Average Monday for the most part, Shinglehouse and
part of Olean dropped off the map for a while.
- Generally slow day, so I tried Extra Mile Service
and attempted to get this guy a browser upgrade, although I strongly reccomended he get
Win95 and a new computer... Anyway, after an hour of fighting win 3.1 we recognised the
futility of it all and user will investigate Win95. :)
- Pesky problem with outlook express.
- DUN keeps unconfiguring itself? Must be a
y1.999k-jan18th bug.
- --Steady, but not crazy and there werent any
outages.
- --Eudora setup! *gasp*
- - Got VERY BUSY for a while as authentication, mail,
and possibly shell went down. Nothing else happened, business as usual.
- -- Not too busy, nothing happened. Spent a lot of
time motherhenning people or running through long troubleshoots.
- -- Fairly quiet, but a lot of long, tough, PERSITANT
PROBLEMS.
- There, I feel better now.
- But it LOOKS like he was on and navigating for a
while there, but he died of a lost carrier. Bob jumped on supportmail
- -- Mike got the worst of her, but shes still my MDP.
Tweaked some
.., We broke off so that she could try it- thats where Mike
picked up...
- -- Normal day. Something redlined for apx. 10
seconds, thats the most exciting occurrance. I heard mail crashed earlier though...
- -- Any site user tried to get to, he was redirected
to www.eznet.net.
www.yahoo.com? No, we think you will like WWW.EZNET.NET MUCH BETTER, sir...
- But it LOOKS like he was on and navigating for a
while there, but he died of a lost carrier.
- Bob jumped on supportmail
- Biggest problem- Newark once redlined
- Call length for this Win3.1 reinstall? 1 hour, 13 minutes,
and about 48 seconds. Can I get a purple heart for bleeding ears?
- a late night blitz.
- ghost calls from "Batavia".
- "Whats the spacebar?" is one question heard...
- stale IAX customers
- took a big whack at it this afternoon,
- -- Monday hangovers. "Sir, are you listening to
me?"
- - Just a setup- during which I discovered the users problems
with "right" and "left" clicking. Their mouse cord was run in FRONT of
the desk, and under to the CPU. They were holding the mouse upside down, thus reversing
the right and left buttons. And the direction the mouse pointer moves...
- -- Ugh! Working with this user was so hard! She seemed to run
ahead a lot, then describe things on her screen in a twisted version of reality. Windows
DOES NOT DO some of these things. I think it was a mix of very odd problems combined with
inexperience. She also rebooted her computer twice, deleted her conneciton icon once,
(!!!) and ended up in some very odd and remote parts of WindowsLand all with
no direction from the assisting tech.
- The Internet is realy FAST when its sunny out!
- My Average Call Length: 19:34- Christ. Submit Submit SUBMIT
your calls...
- -- Quiet most of the day, then steady calls, most long setups
from about 7-8 or so. Sanity regained its grip and there were sparrattic calls for the
rest of the evening.
- dchamp - his biggest problem was his ignorance.
- "Something's wrong with this thing", user is
getting connected. "What do
we have, Internet Explorer or Windows 95?"
- [*] Support Mail Done -- Nothing left but stale IA
changeovers
- -- DNS1 got hacked... Then mail2 went up and down all night.
Other
than that, nothing much has happened. And... WOO! New machine!
- [] Support Mail Done -- everyrthing but those pesky IAX
- -- Reboot! Reboot! Reboot! I THINK it worked...
- -- Uneventful, light calls. My left mouse button broke
though....
